When you ask Jim what St. Coletta means to him, you are likely to get an enthusiastic response.

Jim has been supported by St. Coletta since he was ten years old and has participated in many of the programs and services that are available through the organization. According to Jim, many of the people who are part of the organization are like family to him.

By anyone’s measure, Jim’s life is full. He is involved with his parish, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where he is a frequent lector, Eucharistic Minister and member of the Knights of Columbus. For the past three years, he has worked as a housekeeper for Amerihost Inn in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Jim makes it a priority to take great vacations having recently returned from a trip to Nova Scotia. His travels have allowed him to introduce many people to St. Coletta and some of these people have in turn become volunteers and benefactors.

 

Volunteering for
St. Coletta and promoting the organization is one of the things Jim likes best. “I think it is important to give back to an organization that has given so much to me.”

Tom is making lots of decisions these days. He recently started a new job working as a clerical assistant for the Human Resources Department. But perhaps his most important project is working with St. Coletta to build a new house for himself and his two long-time roommates, Alex and Steve, and their beloved dog, Goldie.

“I can’t believe how many decisions there are – carpet, tile, cabinets!” Tom says with a smile. “I can’t wait until we all can just move in.”

Tom’s experiences in building this home mirror St. Coletta’s goal for all of the people it serves—the goal of helping people lead lives enriched by personal choice, inclusion, and opportunity.
