Founder’s Day

Our annual Founder’s Day held in Jefferson was our 118th Anniversary for St. Coletta. It was a beautiful day starting with the Senior Leaders cleaning up at the cemetery, the ribbon cutting for our Assisi Hallway, a lunch including potatoes and mass to celebrate the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi that were able to join us.
Our Founder’s Day lunch always includes potatoes to recognize the original Sisters who settled here in Jefferson in 1864. They bought a 3 bedroom farmhouse on 40 acres and with little to no money made it by with only potatoes, salt and tea. This farmhouse would eventually turn into the original Motherhouse followed by the start of St. Coletta of Wisconsin in 1904. That same mission they founded carries through to who we are today.
Thank you, Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi.
