St. Francis Returns

We almost thought we lost him, but St. Francis has returned to St. Coletta!

In 2011, we renovated our Alverno Cottage for our current HQ, sold the former campus, and moved across HWY 18 to CTY HWY Y. At that time, stained glass pieces adorned our historic 1953 chapel, entitled St. Coletta and The Good Shepherd, along with other architectural features, were incorporated into our newly refreshed space. The St. Francis stained glass window was gifted to another Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi ministry, Cardinal Stritch University, for use in their chapel.

With the recent purchase of Cardinal Stritch and the threat of demolition pending to take this cherished memorial from history, we are thrilled to announce that St. Francis has been recovered and has found his way home. We are eternally grateful to be able to share this window again and showcase this iconic window for generations to come. We will proudly place it at our St. Francis Center in Waukesha.

Join us in celebrating the preservation of a significant piece of our heritage. Pictured is the St. Francis head panel, as well as, the full image of all the stained glass pieces as a whole that we have.
